“Don’t look back look forwards” were the words of advice from my dear uncle when I last visited him with my sister before his passing. These words will stay with me forever, together with the many happy memories I have. A wise and principled man who was not afraid to be different and refreshingly unpretentious until the very end. Long before any of us had camera phones, Understood the internet, social media or drones. Salahi Amca showed us the importance of taking photos, He showed us the significance of filming videos. In between inventing parts for Rolls Royce engines, He’d be wind surfing, in Cyprus, swimming or climbing mountains. Not only was he fun and cool, But he still kept going, even when life was cruel. A beloved Dad, Brother and Uncle to us, Our memories of you are so very precious. We love you always dayı. We remember all the fun times we have shared together. The children remember all the magic tricks you performed for them and the giggles we all shared (including when you piled the plates, cups, teapot and cutlery up high during lunch to our village pub to make the kids laugh!). We remember all the road trips to Derby to see you over the years, and our lovely pub lunches. We remember every birthday and celebration we spent together, laughing, dancing, singing and smiling. You’ll always be in our thoughts and we’ll always love you x
